I'm in AZ this historic week....home state of a key contender for one of the most influential positions in the world. The tension here is quite palpable, and quite understandably so. The candidates for the upcoming terms are so different that no matter who wins, our world will never be the same again!
My only hope is that voters realize that in recent history, the world economy has never been so bad at election time. The winner couldn't have it worse from "all eyes on you", "prioritize the most urgent issue to fix", or "deliver right away" perspective, given that there are so many critical issues facing us. Yet, on the brighter side, the winner has an unprecedented opportunity to really make an impact, ensure that America remains a beacon of hope for several developing nations, and to truly bring about a positive change. We need someone who understands the issues, seeks expert (read "non-lobby") advice, and can make and execute short-term as well as long-term decisions.
Another 22 hours and 5% of the voters still undecided....I doubt Hitchcock could write a plot with more suspense!
