Beverage choices...

I ordered a medium light peach iced green tea at lunch today. As I did that, my first reaction was..boy, ordering beverages just gets easier by the day! And then, I remembered this scene in the movie "You've Got Mail" where Tom Hanks comments about the number of choices one has to make just to get a cup of joe in the morning at Starbuck. It's one of my favorite movie moments, as it hits the nail on the head on the lives we live today. Whatever happened to 'simple pleasures'?

Imagine walking into a coffee place, and as your engine is still revving up, you are asked to choose from multiple options - size (tall / grande / venti), flavor (pumpkin spice, CDL, caramel macchiato, mocha etc), light (yes / no), milk (soy / regular), whipped cream (yes/no), number of pumps (single, double, triple), yada yada. Isn't the point of getting some caffeine in the am to wake you up so that you can actually make the very many choices that one must make every day? At the end of this exercise, I'm so wide awake, I don't even need my "personalized" coffee any more. Hmm....not really....I still want my grande, no WC, light CDL, but you get the point :)
